The Charity Objective
MEN IN THE ALPS is a charity project of which the net proceeds are donated to charitable institutions dedicated to helping the ill, handicapped or socially underprivileged. In the interest of collecting as much money possible for this worthy cause, the entire production team and the models all take part receiving no salary or reimbursement. In 2006 we started with the first edition. The total edition is of 1,800 copies. The total amount of donations collected till today is of 80,300 EUR [approx. 107,200 USD].
Our receivers of donations are:
DEBRA-South Tyrol (Toblach) cares for and supports the so-called "butterfly children" that suffer from Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a congenital illness of the skin: The slightest movement causes blisters and wounds to appear on the entire body of the patient. Use of donation: Research project "Gen-Schere bei EB" (aetiology).

The "Muenchner Aids-Hilfe e.V." (Munich AIDS Help Desk) was founded in 1984 as a charitable organization. In the AIDS-Help-House on Lindwurmstrasse, the organization offers necessary services for people with HIV/AIDS, who benefit from information and advice on care and assistance to get housing and employment. Next to it is also operating the "Café Regenbogen", a meeting point and place of solidarity, for people with and without HIV-infection to become prepared for their return to working life.

The primarily important tasks of the AIDS-Help Desk PRO POSITIV South Tyrol (Bolzano, Italy) are the information and sensibilisation regarding infectious diseases (specially of HIV) as well as the active support of the affected and their families.

HOUSE EMMAUS
The "House Emmaus" at Laives/Leifers (Italy) is an institution offering advice, support and lodgings to HIV-positive and those suffering from AIDS.
